Laura Garbštienė “I’m a bark beetle”
In the exhibition you will be able to find a forest that comes from the body parts of sheep but at the same time is my own footprint, stretched over time.
And a weaver, whose work, the process of weaving, is in itself important and valuable, disconnected from economic, ethnographic, or scientific values, just like a bug, eating wood, commonly known as a bark beetle, does not serve any higher purpose. It’s just there.
You might encounter some bugs. Or you might not. They will have left their patterns.
The exhibition is open Friday–Sunday 12:00–17:00, and by prior appointment, phone: 861416255.
The exhibition runs until 25 July.
The exhibition is organised by VšĮ Verpėjos, sponsor: Lithuanian Council for Culture
